Growing, bundling, and photographing flowers

 

A single flower is complete.
By combining them one by one, it becomes a bouquet with a new charm added. And finally, by taking a picture, I want to sublimate it into a work with an unexpected message.
With that in mind, I grow flowers every day, bundle and photograph them.

In my garden, I welcome the appearance of unsightly flowers without overdoing it.
This is because I feel that fun and strength emerge from the individual differences that are not found in the flowers on the market.
And I bundle the flowers in my own style, which is different from the usual way of arranging and tying, so that it will be completed only when I cut it into a photograph.

Bouquets are sometimes classified as still life, but in reality it changes from moment to moment depending on the light, temperature and water conditions.
It would be my greatest pleasure if you could feel the beauty overflowing from that limited life.

1968 Born in Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan

1992 Graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture

2002 After working for a bank and an insurance company, became independent

2007 Started growing vegetables

2016 Started flower cultivation and flower arrangement

2019 Started bouquets, arrangements and ikebana

2020 Start photographing bouquets

花を育て、束ね、撮る

​

花は一輪で完成しています。その一つ一つを組み合わせることで、新たな魅力が付加された花束になります。そして最後に写真に収めることで、思ってもいなかったメッセージを載せた作品に昇華させたい。そんなことを考えながら毎日花を育て、花を束ね、撮っています。

​

私の庭ではあえて過剰な世話はせずに、不恰好な花の出現を歓迎しています。それは市場の花にはない個体差の中に、面白みや力強さが立ち現れてくるのを感じるからです。そして写真に切り取った時に初めて完成されるように、通常のいけ方、束ね方ではない自分なりのスタイルで花を束ねています。

また花束は静物として扱われることもありますが、実際は光、気温、水の状態で刻々と変化しています。その限られた命から溢れ出た美しさ、それを感じてもらえたらこの上ない喜びです。
